Our Stellenbosch trails daily host a rapidly growing number of local and regional cyclists and runners. Stellenbosch has also, in the last few years, become the destination for many European elite athletes to train in their winter season. This gives us the opportunity not only to show off our trails and our beloved mountains, but also our hospitality.
However to do this, we need to keep our trails up to speed and to do the proper maintenance on them that regular use requires. We are fortunate to have a few generous corporate sponsors that support our work on the rivers and trails and we are proud of our association with them. However, as an NPO working on permit-free trails, we do rely on our individual users (and most direct beneficiaries of our work) to support us and the trails that we create and maintain.
Our new venture into local economic development in the form of a guiding academy and trail centre also needs your support. We believe that empowering the local community to access our natural resources to their economic benefit lays the foundation for the continued successful stewardship of these resources. Your donations make this possible by sponsoring kit or training or the use of our guides on the trails as safety officers – all contributions are valued and make a difference.
